2012-2013 Grade 8 Information Evening
On Thursday, January 19th, 2012 Lisgar will host its Grade 8 Information Evening. The formal presentation starts at 7pm in the Alumni Auditorium, but come early as tours of the school will leave from the main entrance of the school starting at 6pm. University of Ottawa - Parent Evening
Future students and their parents are invited to our annual Information Evening and Fair on Thursday, December 8, 2011. Presentations will focus on the admissions process, important deadlines, and ways to increase scholarship and bursary potential. In addition, faculty representatives will be on hand during the fair to answer questions.
Students must confirm their attendance at the on-campus event by completing the online registration form. (11/22/2011)

The Lisgarwrite is proud to bring you the first issue of the school newspaper that is being distributed online! Grad Photos

Spaghetti Dinner & Trivia Night
The Spaghetti Dinner & Trivia Night, hosted by Reach for the Top and Key Clubs, on Friday, November 4th from 6-10pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for students. Proceeds to CHEO and the Reach For the Top Team. Good food, fun trivia and prizes. Please spread the word to your colleagues, friends and family who might be interested. Post-Secondary Visits to Lisgar
Post-Secondary Institutions visit Lisgar at lunch time in room 202. Students in grade 11 and 12 are invited to attend and have their specific post-secondary questions answered by Liason Officers. Our schedule will be updated as more information becomes available. (09/13/2011)
Take Our Kids to Work Day
Wednesday November 2, 2011 is Take Our Kids to Work Day. This is the day that thousands of grade 9 students across the nation will take part in the Take Our Kids to WorkTM program,a job shadowing experience for students and their parents. Through this experience, grade 9 students have the opportunity to accompany their parents or another family member/friend to work for the day.
Once a workplace has been chosen, please complete the yellow consent form in the Take Our Kids To Work package and have your child return it to the Student Services office no later than Tuesday November 1, 2011. If it is not possible to host your own teenager, please make arrangements for them to accompany a colleague, relative, friend or neighbour. Students not participating in the program will attend school and their regular classes as usual, but we urge you to ensure your child has the opportunity to take part in this wonderful experience. The Ottawa Police Service and the Ottawa Police Services Board are hosting a Let's Chat Youth Cafe because they want to hear from you! Come join a real police-youth conversation and explore the questions and issues that matter to you and your friends in small group table chats. (10/20/2011)
uOttawa Day for Students
The University of Ottawa Liaison Office is once again hosting uOttawa Day on Friday, October 28, 2011. This event features open-house activities for students, including presentations on admission, financial aid and academic programs. Letters of Concern & Parent-Teacher Interviews
Letters of Concern for semester 1 were sent home during the week of October 11, in advance of Parent-Teacher interviews taking place on Thursday, October 20th, from 3pm to 7pm. Interviews will be by appointment and appointment sheets were distributed to students on Thursday, October 13th. Please consult with your child and have him or her arrange appointment times with the teachers you wish to speak to. Carleton has a full day planned for their prospective students and families! Join them for their Program and Services Fair – showcasing Carleton departments and services. Parent Mock Timetable Afternoon
Parents and Guardians are invited to follow the timetable of their son or daughter and meet his/her first semester teachers on Thursday, September 22, 2011, starting at 4:30 pm. Information sheets and schedules will be distributed to students on Thursday, September 15th or you can download the invitation. Please consult with your son or daughter and have them fill in the timetable portion of the information sheet and bring it with you on September 22nd. Post-Secondary Presentation
Please come to our parent information evening on Thursday, September 22
at 6:00pm in the Auditorium. This presentation is aimed at the parents of grade 11 and 12
students and is focused on post-secondary choices including college, university,
and other options available to students and will address the research
and application process. Students are welcome to attend. Feel free to print out the presentation to bring with you. (09/19/2011)
Timetable Change Requests
Students wishing to request a timeable change are asked to complete a Request for a Timetable Request Form available in Student Services. Students are asked to consult the Master Timetable Semester One and Master Timetable Semester Two (last updated: September 15) posted in Memorial Hall and on the Scholarships bulletin board. For help reading the master timetable you may refer to the instructions, please note that class sizes must fall under the class maxima. Once complete, completed forms are to be returned to the student services office and may be picked up the next day from Mrs. Stephens or Ms. Bénard. All requests must include parent or guardian signature. Incomplete forms will not be processed.
Students will be able to request timetable changes after September 6th and before September 16th. 2011. (09/06/2011)

Start of 2011-2012 School Year
On September 6, 2011 the 2011-2012 school year begins. Any student who still needs to pay their $55 student fee, pick up their timetable, and choose their locker may do so during regular business hours prior to the start of school. (09/01/2011)
